Welcome to a group of women who's goal is to encourage each other to put down some serious roots in the Word of God. This blog is dedicated to reading through the Bible in a year. Hopefully you will find the encouragement and accountability here that you need to push through the tough parts- or when life just gets in the way. The reading plan is located at the bottom of the blog. It contains links to the passages we are reading through biblegateway.com. You can use those links or read your own Bible, whichever you prefer.
We are all members of Oak Hill Baptist Church in Griffin, Georgia and felt the need in our own life for a little bit of the Lord's splendor. Please join us!!

GOD'S PROMISE

Paul being in Corinth wrote this letter to the Christians of Rome in58 AD. It is one of the most important books of the Bible. A lot of these verses are used to bring people to the saving knowledge of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. The major there is justification by faith. It let's us know that we are all sinners Jews and Gentiles alike. God shows no favoritism between us.

Some of my favorite verses are in these chapters and today I would like to share some of them with you.

Romans 8:38,39. For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life,
nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things to come,(38)
nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to
separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our
Lord. (39)
What a wonderful promise this is. Once we are saved NOTHING can separate us from His love. I just thank Him for that promise.

Romans 10:9,10. That if thou shall confess with thy mouth the
Lord Jesus, and shall believe in thine heart that God hath raised
him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.(9) For with the heart
man believeth unto rightousness, and with the mouth confession
is made unto salvation. (10)
Another great promise given to us. There is nothing that we can do to earn this great gift. All we have to do is accept it. How great is that.

Romans 10:17. So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing
by the Word of God.

Again I would like to thank Him for my being allowed to hear, to read, and to study His Word. We take so much of these rights for granted. Many countries of this world are not allowed this right. We to, are in danger of losing this right. Let us praise Him while there is still time. Let us carry His promises to Griffin, to Georgia and to the ends of the earth. Lord, help us to be like Paul; to speak your words unto the very end of our days.

  1. Ms Boots, my heart warmed over reading some of those same verses today. Paul really did a great job of breaking down what really saves us- our faith. Diane, the speaker for ladies night out, mentioned something in passing that I wonder if many of the ladies there had thought about before or if they even caught it. She said that the patriarchs of the old testament were saved by their faith in the promise of Christ. That is something I have just really come to grasp this past year. It was always faith...from Noah and Abraham on. :)

  2. Ms. Boots - you really hit on some of my favorite verses from out of the entire Bible, especially the one from Romans 8. I have held tight to that verse so many, many times! Thank you for the reminder of these promises and how VERY we blessed we are to have access to God's Word any time we desire and how thankful we should be for this!!! Natalie - thank for sharing that in your comment. I had never really grasped that before! That really helps to make sense of A LOT of things for me!!!
