Welcome to a group of women who's goal is to encourage each other to put down some serious roots in the Word of God. This blog is dedicated to reading through the Bible in a year. Hopefully you will find the encouragement and accountability here that you need to push through the tough parts- or when life just gets in the way. The reading plan is located at the bottom of the blog. It contains links to the passages we are reading through biblegateway.com. You can use those links or read your own Bible, whichever you prefer.
We are all members of Oak Hill Baptist Church in Griffin, Georgia and felt the need in our own life for a little bit of the Lord's splendor. Please join us!!

The Only Meaning To This Life Is God

The only meaning to this life is God. We become deceived so easily to live for ourselves. We want riches, we want comforts, we want to live forever. None of those things matter because when we are dead we can’t take it with us and the ones who receive it didn’t work for it. Our whole point in life is God. There is no other reason for life. We need to be listening for God and not be hasty in what we think He should be doing. Although we like to plan and we like to be prepared for what comes our way, we do not control our destiny. People obsess over attaining and maintaining wealth that is gets in the way of God. Money will never satisfy. The more you have the more you want. I have heard that said so many times in my life but it doesn’t stop me from wanting more.

Chapter seven verse ten stuck out to me.
Do not say, “Why were the old days better than these?” For it is not wise to ask such questions.
How can you move forward if you are always looking back? How can you see what you are gaining if you are always looking back at what you are losing? It is all about perspective. So many quarrels and frustrations could be avoided if we just change our perspective.
Our lives are so short. Death is inevitable. Enjoy what you have while you have it but keep in check that hard times can happen at any time. It can all be gone in an instant. Then what will you have? Do you have Jesus - the only thing that makes sense of life on earth? Do you desire wisdom? True wisdom comes from knowing and trusting God. That is all that matters in life!
