Welcome to a group of women who's goal is to encourage each other to put down some serious roots in the Word of God. This blog is dedicated to reading through the Bible in a year. Hopefully you will find the encouragement and accountability here that you need to push through the tough parts- or when life just gets in the way. The reading plan is located at the bottom of the blog. It contains links to the passages we are reading through biblegateway.com. You can use those links or read your own Bible, whichever you prefer.
We are all members of Oak Hill Baptist Church in Griffin, Georgia and felt the need in our own life for a little bit of the Lord's splendor. Please join us!!

HE WILL DO IT

The word that came to Jeremiah from the Lord saying, Thus speaketh the Lord God of Israel, saying, Write thee all the words that I have spoken unto thee in a book. Jeremiah 30:1-2.

Because God spoke these words to Jeremiah and other prophets, we have the Holy Bible, God's word, to help us and guide us to live as we should. I like the definition for the Bible: Basic Instructions Before Leaving Earth.

The previous chapters had a negative theme. The negative actions was to uproot, tear down, demolish, and destroy. Now we are talking positive action to build and plant showing that the Lord's promises has not changed. (Taken from "Explore the Bible" Summer 2011 edition Page 79.)

God is telling them of a new covenant He is going to make with His people. This one will not be written on stone tablets but on their hears, and He will be their God and they will be His people. What a great promise and it is extended to us.

God promised to bring them back to their land after being in Babylon for seventy years and He did it. He promised to send them a Messiah to save them and He did it. He promised to restore Israel as a nation and in 1945, He did it. All of these promises has been fulfilled. God is Truth and these promises that has been fulfilled gives us promise and hope. God's word has never failed us. So when He promises us a second coming of Jesus, He will do it. When He promises us life everlasting with Him, He will do it. He promises to be with us through the good and the bad times, He will do it.

I am so glad that we serve a God of Truth. One whose word we can rely on. We have so much to be thankful for and so much more to look forward to. Joy fills my heart to overflowing to know that one day I shall see Him face to face and His promise to be will be fulfilled.
